"Routes: The Spiritual Odyssey of Chinese American Artists" is a12-episode TV documentary series about the spiritual odyssey of 12 well-established Chinese American visual artists. It reveals each of the artists' unique sacred paths to fulfill their American dreams, as well as their changes in art medium/content and lifestyle/values. It explains the challenges and importance of art, especially by Chinese American artists. While pursuing their own dreams, the works generously donated by the artists represented will support the dreams of a new generation of dreamers through college scholarships. All proceeds from the sales will be used directly for scholarships to help qualified students achieve their college dreams.

Lin Yan SOLD Lin Yan uses handmade rice paper and ink not to paint, but to create sculptural paper collage. Her images investigate the interrelation of Chinese traditional painting and modernist abstraction, and postmodern appropriation and ancient technical rigor. "Winter" was named by viewers. Lin Yan believes each work has an open end and will not be completed until the viewer's own thoughts are given. |

Song Xin SOLD Papercutting is a traditional folk craft. Xin Song uses the technique to challenge our taboos, our relationship with society and the way we think about ourselves. "Transformation" is composed as a floral quilt in which the floral contours are fragments of objects from contemporary society. |

Tan LiQin believes our work ethics and life attitudes determine the degree to which we rust. With digital animation technology, "Rusty Face" presents a contemporary artistic interpretation of the deterioration of mind, body, and spirit by harmful and self-destructive human behaviors. They explore the complexity of sexual desire as well as gender distortions and entanglement. |
